Tri-cone synchronizing mechanism
Three-cone synchronizing mechanism for gear shifting is used in the SG-S 370 and SG-S 400 versions. Additional conical ring (3), installed between the friction ring (4) and synchronizer ring (6), as well as friction lining (5), fixed on the friction ring (4), are the main distinguishing features of this type of synchronizing mechanism.
The main purpose is more efficient braking of a freely rotating gear wheel relative to the gear engagement clutch in order to equalize the angular velocities when the gear is engaged.
