Checking the hydraulic compensator

1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature (approx. 80°C). Check the oil level and adjust if necessary. Remove cylinder head cover 1 (see fig.4.27a, 4.276).





2. Rotate the camshaft until cam 2 of the desired valve points upward with the cone.

3. Check the hydraulic compensator by pressing it with a rod with normal force by hand. Do not use a metal rod. If one of the hydraulic lifters lowers faster than the others, it must be replaced.
