Always measure pressure with cold tyres. During a trip, the tires heat up and the pressure in them increases, so if you measure the pressure immediately after the trip, the result will be distorted. Preventive blood pressure checks should be done every three to four weeks. A pressure drop of about 1.5% per month is normal. If this value is greater, check the tire more carefully. The wheel valves should always be closed with caps: if dirt gets into the valve, the needle can jam and it will not close tightly. Tire pressure must not fall below the minimum allowable value. The sticker on the body of your vehicle shows the tire pressures for your vehicle. Setting the tire pressure to 0.2-0.3 bar above normal has some advantages: the steering becomes more sensitive, the tires wear out more slowly and even fuel consumption is slightly reduced. The disadvantage is that the damping properties of the tires are reduced.
