When replacing the damper, balancing the crankshaft is not required.
When dismantling:
Remove fan shroud and fan.
Secure the crankshaft from turning.
To fix it, you can turn on the gear in the gearbox or the parking brake. You can remove the starter and fix the ring gear in the appropriate way.
Loosen the damper center screw.
Use a chisel to make marks on the pulley and sleeve to accurately fix the key.
Remove damper with pulley and bushing assembly. If necessary, use a hammer with plastic working surfaces. Take special care when removing the gray cast iron pulley.
Before installing the damper, assemble the crankshaft pulley and bushing and tighten the mounting bolts, paying attention to the position of the offset hole. Do not install spring washers.
Heat the bushing to 50°C to facilitate fitting on the crankshaft. Aligning the keyway and the position of the key according to the marks, put the bushing on the crankshaft.
Put dish-shaped washers on the mounting bolt, lubricate the thread, screw in the bolt and tighten to a torque of 270...330 Nm.
Install the fan and fan shroud.
