Sequence of work
1. Raise the vehicle, secure it and remove the wheel.
2. On the front wheel: Loosen the wear sensor wire and remove its connector.
3. Open the bleed valve, depress the brake pedal once and hold it in this position.
4. Disconnect a brake hose from the brake pipeline on a body.
5. Remove the wheel speed sensor.
6. Turn out two six-sided bolts of fastening to a rotary fist and remove a support together with an arm.
7. When assembling, always use new self-locking bolts to secure the bracket.
Pic. 8.20. A torque wrench is required when tightening the bolts securing the caliper bracket to the steering knuckle
8. On the front wheels, tighten the bracket-to-knuckle mounting bolts to 115 Nm using a torque wrench (pic. 8.20), on the rear wheels - torque 50 Nm (or 70 Nm on vehicles with ASR).
9. If the bolts do not tighten well, remove the rest of the locking compound with a threading die (on the front wheels - M12; on the rear - M10).
10. If the caliper is removed only to replace the disc, it is not necessary to disconnect the brake hose. In this case, you should only unscrew the bolts securing the bracket to the steering knuckle. Do not leave the caliper hanging on the brake hose, but tie it up with wire.
11. If the brake hose has been removed and the system is depressurized, bleed the brake mechanism after assembly.
