The automatic transmission selects the appropriate gear depending on the position of the gear selector lever, vehicle speed and accelerator pedal position.
Attention! When working on a vehicle with the engine running, apply the parking brake and set the selector lever to position P.
Move the selector lever to the desired position only when the engine is idling. Before moving the selector, apply the parking brake, otherwise the vehicle will start moving immediately.
Acceleration of the car depending on the position of the accelerator pedal
Lightly depressing the accelerator pedal shifts up the transmission earlier and accelerates slowly.
When the accelerator pedal is pressed hard, the transmission shifts to a higher gear later and the car accelerates quite intensively.
When the accelerator pedal is pressed all the way and held in this position, the gearbox is forced to shift to a lower gear and the car accelerates at maximum acceleration.
Selector lever position
R - Parking. This position should only be set when the vehicle is stopped. The drive wheels are blocked in this position and prevent the vehicle from moving. The parking brake must also be applied. Do not set the lever to this position while the vehicle is moving.
R - Reverse. This position should only be set with the vehicle stopped and the engine idling.
N - Neutral position. This position should be set when starting the engine and running it at idle. When the brakes are released, the car moves freely.
D - Move forward. Normal driving position.
3 - The movement of the car occurs only in the first three gears.
2 - Driving only in first and second gears. It is used when driving without a trailer on roads with uphills or downhills in the mountains or driving at speeds up to 40 km/h.
