Normal oil consumption occurs due to the combustion of a correspondingly small amount of oil in the cylinder, the removal of combustion products and abrasion particles. In addition, oil is consumed due to high temperatures and high pressure in the engine. Oil consumption is also influenced by external factors such as driving style, manufacturing tolerances. Normally, this consumption is so low that only a small amount of oil needs to be topped up between prescribed oil change intervals.
Oil should be topped up when the mark is reached "Nachfull" (topping up) (maximum amount of oil to be added 2 l).
Attention! Do not fill engine oil above the marking "Maximal". If too much oil is filled in, then the excess must be drained. Otherwise, the catalytic converter may be damaged as unburned oil seeps into the exhaust.
