Removing
1. Disconnect the wire from the battery terminal (–), connecting its pole with the car body.
Attention! Disconnect this wire from the battery only when the ignition is off, otherwise the fuel injection system control unit may be damaged. Before disconnecting the wires from the battery terminals, you should also read the recommendations in the appropriate section.
2. Raise the car in front. If equipped, remove the bottom cover of the engine compartment.
3. Disconnect wire from terminal 30 (1) and terminals 50 (2) on the traction relay.
4. Remove brackets 4 to 7 to secure the wires. For vehicles with a diesel engine (5) for fixing the wires is missing.
5. 6-cylinder engine with automatic transmission: unscrew the rear engine shaft bearing on the frame.
6. Unscrew the bolts on the starter flange (3).
7. Pull down the starter. For a 6-cylinder engine, first turn the steering wheel slightly to the left.
Installation
1. Install the starter and tighten the bolts to 40 Nm. For a 6-cylinder engine, set the steering again to drive straight ahead.
2. Screw the wire to terminal 30 with a torque of 15 Nm, to terminal 50 with a torque of 5 Nm.
3. Install brackets 4 to 7 to secure the wires.
4. Install the bottom cover of the engine compartment.
5. Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (–). Set the time on the clock and also enter the anti-theft code for the radio.
