Crankshaft Pulley/ Vibration Damper
Removing
1. To improve access, remove the radiator fan blades and shroud as described in Chapter 3.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt as described in Chapter 1A.
3. Turn away bolts of fastening and remove a pulley / an oscillation damper from a nave. If necessary, keep the pulley / vibration damper from turning with a wrench head on the hub mounting bolt.
Installation
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Install the accessory drive belt as described in Chapter 1A and install the radiator fan blades and shroud as described in Chapter 3.
Hub
Removing
Warning: The hub bolt is too tight. When loosening the bolt, a hub locking tool is required. Do not use unintentional and unintended tools for this, as this may result in injury or injury.
Note: A puller may be required to remove the hub. Installation may require a torque wrench generating up to 300 Nm of torque.
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley as described earlier in this paragraph.
6. Assemble the hub retainer. You can make a fixture from two metal rods connected with an axial bolt. Attach the hub anti-rotation tool with the pulley/vibration damper bolts.
7. Using a socket wrench and a long lever, loosen the hub bolt. Note that the bolt is very tight.
8. Turn away a bolt of a nave and remove spring washers.
9. Where required, remove the lower mounting bolt from the tensioner damper brace and rotate the brace away from the hub.
10. Using a suitable puller, remove the hub from the crankshaft.
11. Where provided, remove the key from the crankshaft.
Installation
12. Where provided, install the keyway into the groove on the crankshaft.
13. Align the groove in the hub with the key and slide the hub onto the end of the shaft.
14. Lubricate the spring washers, then install them with the convex sides facing the bolt head (see fig. 5.14).
Pic. 5.14. The convex surface of the washers of the crankshaft pulley hub must face the direction of the bolt head
15. Lubricate the threads of the bolts with oil, then install the hub mounting bolt.
16. Wrap a bolt of a nave, keeping it from turning by means of the adaptation. Tighten the hub mounting bolt to the required torque. Be careful not to get hurt.
17. Install the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper as described earlier in this paragraph.
