Parking brake — check operation

1. Applying normal medium pressure, fully apply the parking brake, counting the number of clicks on the ratchet mechanism. If the adjustment is correct, there should be approximately 7 or 8 clicks before the parking brake fully engages. If there are less than 4 or more than 11 clicks, adjustment is required. Talk to Chapter 9 for a description of the adjustment procedure.
