Front cable
Removing
Note: Installation requires a new cable-to-adjuster plate bopt.
1. Remove the driver's seat and center console as described in Chapter 11.
2. Working at the base of the parking brake lever, remove the cotter pin, then the pin and disconnect the cable from the lever (see fig. 15.2).

3. Pry up the grommet, then run the cable through the floor.
4. Working from underneath the vehicle, unhook the return spring and remove it from the cable pivot plate (see fig. 15.4).

5. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a back part of a forward cable to a hinge plate. Dispose of the bolt, a new one should be used for installation.
6. Walk along the cable, remembering how it is laid, and release it from the appropriate holders and clamps and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Attach the cable to the pivot plate with a new bolt. When finished, adjust the parking brake as described in paragraph 13.
Rear cable
Removing
Note: Installation will require a new cable-to-hub bolt.
8. Remove the appropriate set of parking brake shoes as described in paragraph 14 and separate the expansion mechanism from the cable end.
9. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a braid of a cable to a nave and pull out a cable behind a brake shield (see fig. 15.9). Dispose of the bolt as a new one is required for installation.

10. Turn away fastenings and lower heat shields from the bottom of a body.
11. Unhook the return spring and remove the cable pivot plate.
12. Remove the latch securing the front end of the cable to the bracket, then unhook the cable from the regulator plate and remove it from under the car (see fig. 15.12).

Installation
13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Attach the cable to the hub with a new bolt. When finished, adjust the parking cable as described in paragraph 13.
