Cars with a gasoline engine
1. Vehicles manufactured since 8/99. Depress the retaining clip that secures the separate coolant expansion tank, remove it and set it aside from the work site without disconnecting the hoses from it.
2. Unscrew the screw plug 1 on the chain tensioner 2 together with the O-ring (see illustration).
3. Screw the oil pressure gauge adapter into the chain tensioner hole, installing the O-ring.
4. Connect an oil pressure gauge.
5. Check engine oil level.
6. Check the engine oil temperature with a special thermometer, inserting it instead of a rod oil level indicator.
7. Start the engine and measure the oil pressure. The parameters are indicated in the table.
8. Disconnect the pressure gauge and adapter.
9. Screw the screw plug into the hole of the chain tensioner, installing a new gasket on it. Tighten the plug with 15 Nm.
10. Reinstall the coolant expansion tank.
Diesel vehicles
11. Unscrew the screw plug on the side of the oil filter housing and remove it together with the gasket.
12. Screw the oil pressure gauge adapter into the oil filter housing, installing the O-ring.
13. Connect an oil pressure gauge to the adapter.
14. Check engine oil level.
15. Check the engine oil temperature with a special thermometer, inserting it instead of a rod oil level indicator.
16. Start the engine and measure the oil pressure. The parameters are indicated in the table.
17. Disconnect the pressure gauge and connector.
18. Screw the screw plug with a new gasket into the filter housing and tighten the plug to 15 Nm.
