- Hydraulic power steering. Check fluid level and top up if necessary. If the amount of liquid in the tank has decreased significantly, then find out the reason.
- Ball joints of the front suspension. Check the play and their fastening, as well as the condition of the dust caps.
- Steering. Check the tightness and condition of the steering cuffs, as well as the play of the tie rod ends.
- Vehicles up to identification number 515 389 inclusive. Check rear trailing arm bearing play.
- Inspect undercarriage parts for damage and corrosion.
- VANEO. Check the tightness of the shock absorbers.

1. Place the vehicle on stands.
2. Inspect, with a flashlight, the following undercarriage parts for damage and corrosion:
- trailing arms of the rear suspension;
- supports of the transverse levers of the front suspension;
- front suspension wishbones;
- all spars.
